Singapore trademarks
There are no nationality restrictions for trademark applications; both local and foreign individuals can apply, provided the goods or services associated with the company require it. However, applicants must provide a stable Singapore address for correspondence during the application process.
Singapore classifies trademarks into 45 categories based on the international Nice Agreement, including 34 categories for goods and 11 categories for services. Applicants can select the appropriate categories based on their business activities and the specific goods or services they wish to protect. Once successfully registered, trademarks are valid for 10 years from the application date.
Trademarks can be marked with TM (the abbreviation for "TradeMark"), indicating it is a trademark symbol, but it does not have legal protection. The TM symbol can be used to highlight the trademark even if the application has not been submitted to the Trademark Office.
After successful registration, trademarks can be marked with an R (the abbreviation for "Registered"), indicating that the trademark has been registered with the Trademark Office and is legally protected. Trademark numbers should be placed in the upper right or lower right corner of the trademark.

Madrid Agreement
The Madrid Protocol establishes the international registration system for trademarks. The effects of this process are equivalent to the effects of trademark registration applications filed in each country/region specified by the applicant. The Madrid Protocol allows trademark owners to simultaneously seek protection for their trademarks in multiple countries by submitting a single application to a single office in one language, accompanied by one set of fees in one currency (Swiss Francs).
